parish council news
Last year Wiltshire Council introduced an initiative to "Clean for the Queen", which proved very successful. Communities, including Tockenham, got together to litter-pick and generally tidy up in their own parishes - before the verges started to grow.
We had a good crowd turn up. Everyone split up around the village - then returned to the Hall for coffee and cake afterwards.
This year, the initiative will continue and we have decided on Saturday 4th March - 10 am outside of the Village Hall - to meet up and spring clean the village. As many hands make light work, do come along and get involved - with the promise of coffee and cake afterwards!
We can supply hi-viz tops and gloves, but if you should have a "litter picker" - please bring it along.
Hope to see you there.
Please be advised that the stretch of the C120, which runs between the two Tockenham village signs , will be closed on 15th February between the hours of 07.00 and 18.00 for approximately two days.
This is so that the Council can carry out carriageway reconstruction, surface dressing and road markings.
Diversion signs will be in place, but possibly  the best way to access the village will be along the C130 from Tockenham Corner.
Please note, Orchard Lane will not be affected.
If you normally park a vehicle along this stretch of road, please be sure to move it between these hours.
